"PLAAY Day in the UK," May 16th, 2020 in in London!

Chicago PLAAY GamersPLAAY Games Live-On-Location: The games are ON at Grognard Games, Roselle, IL as gamers dive into the still-in-development PLAAY basketball game, March 16, 2019.

IMPORTANT: This event has been postponed. Please read our Corona Virus Update.

It's PLAAY Day in the UK! A live event in Europe is something we've wanted to do for a long time, and we've decided to make it happen this year. We have a loyal group of international gamers who put up with extra postal expense, extended wait times for delivery and government-imposed (argh!) taxes and duties--and still, they PLAAY on! So we're going to cross the pond 'to say "thanks," in person, with a couple days of live-on-location, dice-rolling card-flipping sports game fun in jolly ol' London!

Join us Saturday May 16th, 11am at Dark Sphere Games, 186 Hercules Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 7LD, United Kingdom. We haven't one-hundred-per-cent settled on a format, but a HISTORY MAKER GOLF open golf tournament seems like the optimal choice. If so, it would run from roughly 11a to 2p. We'd create custom, personalized golfer cards for each PLAAY gamer in attendance (of equal ability, different skill sets) and square off in a two-round tournament, re-ordering the foursomes for the second round with the first-round leaders going last.

We'll most likely have a second go-round with a different game from 2-5p. (Let us know what you'd like to play!) Check back soon for an official programme and updated information.

The "official" hotel for the London event is the Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo, 157 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8XA, United Kingdom. It's only a half-mile walk from the hotel to Dark Sphere Games. As is the custom with most of our on-location events, we'll plan to have an informal get-together/game session at the hotel Friday night (May 15), the night before the main event. It's possible we'll regroup at the hotel again, informally, Saturday evening after dinner. We're also looking into possibly attending an EPL game, whomever is interested/available, Sunday, May 17th. Again, check back soon for the latest details.

If you're interested in possibly being part of this, please DO let us know: this event will require extra planning on our end, and it would be helpful to know who might potentially be attending!
