HISTORY MAKER GOLF Course Creation Contest!

Credit for this awesome idea goes to Mike Haley, Albany NY, who wrote "Why not host a course creation contest for HISTORY MAKER GOLF?"  Ooooooh, yeah!

There were two categories, "Real-Life" and "Fictional," with prizes in each category for winner ($50 PLAAY Games Gift Card) and runner-up ($25 PLAAY Games Gift Card).  Thanks to everyone who invested the time in creating some truly wonderful courses for the game.  It was tough to choose winners, as everyone did a great job.

But, choose we must!  So, here goes...

WINNER, Real-Life Course Category: "Sheboygan Straits GC," Sheboygan, WI (based on Whistling Straits), created by Chad McEvoy, Elburn, IL.  Chad and his son Andy worked on this together, creating a course that has nice playability and visual appeal.  Great creativity with the design, good descriptive text, smart use of water.

RUNNER-UP, Real-Life Course Category: "Orlando AP Golf Course," Orlando, FL (based on Bay Hill), created by Tony Betros, Belle Isle, FL. This was a VERY tough call, because so many other folks had similarly solid course creations.  Tony was one of several entrants who used Brien Martin's course architect tool, and he did a nice job capturing the feel of the course with a solid mix of course card symbols and some creative boutique results.

WINNER, Fictional Course Category: "The Mystical Emerald," Dunoleg, Ireland, created by Richard, Hanna, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK.  Evocative and detailed, with some clever boutique text, this is an amazing effort that will get plenty of play, I'm sure!

RUNNER-UP, Fictional Course Category: "What-A-Putts" Mini-Golf Course, created by Mike McKenny. Clearly off-the-wall, but light-hearted and fun, this is a well-done twist on the core HMG game. Mike's course plays like real miniature golf, with descriptive, light-hearted, often humorous text. A LOT of work went into this. Enjoy!

All courses have been posted on the "free stuff" page for you to download and enjoy.  We'll also be playing an exhibition round on each of the winning courses as part of our Atlanta event.

Congratulations to our winners, and thanks again to everyone who entered!
