Holiday Sale and Online Christmas Party Update: 12.09.24
Hey everybody, thanks for the outpouring of support that we saw in this year's holiday sale! We got so many encouraging texts, e-mails and social media messages about this year's event, especially the Baseball LEAP 20xx set and the Six-Hour Spotlight Deals. Thank you, SO much!
Wish I could say that the 2024 Holiday Sale was in the books. It's not--but we're working REALLY hard to wrap it up! Here's the latest...
We had an unprecedented number of orders 10p Thursday through 10p Monday. As of this writing, we've processed about 93% of the printed-and-shipped orders. Of the remaining outstanding orders, about a third are from Canadian customers which we can process but are currently unable to ship. If you're in this category, expect an e-mail from us in the next couple days discussing your options.
The other two-thirds are items which we ran out of and are in the process of re-printing, like SCRAM-thologies, which take an especially long time to print and finish (about 75 minutes for EACH set). Printed products are currently (and temporarily) at a standstill. Our printer toner has been depleted and, because of an administrative issue at our print provider (Konica Minolta), our re-supply order has gone unfulfilled for over a week. I spoke with a Konica Minolta representative again this morning. In a nutshell, it was their opinion that we did not need more toner (!!). It appears that we have now changed their mind about that, but they are not sure when the toner will ship, or when it might arrive.
We decided to be proactive and have ordered toner from a third-party supplier, with a scheduled delivery date of tomorrow (Tuesday 12.10.24) NLT 8pm. Thus, we should be able to resume printing Tuesday afternoon or evening, regardless of what Konica-Minolta does.
Bottom line: our goal is to have ALL holiday orders shipped by close of business Thursday.
UPDATE 12.10.24: Toner arriver this morning, we’ve resumed printing. Working now to meet the above goal!
After that, it's the annual Online Christmas Party! NOTE: the Online Party is Thursday, December 12th NOT December 14th as the welcome letter mentioned! Apologies for the confusion (how did I miss that!?).

We'll use the Tournament Mode to narrow down to four finalists, and then have a "fish-off" for the winner. YOU pick the winner and (tie-breaker) the total winning fish weight. We'll start the exchange by choosing a number of folks from the party chat room (we have extra gifts, so you don't have to have sent in a gift to be part of the exchange!). Then we'll go down the list (starting with Brian Hoxsey, unless we get a couple of last-minute gift contributions, which we usually do—if so, we’ll add them to the list!). Each person will have the choice of "stealing" an already-opened gift OR choosing a wrapped gift from under the tree. Paul Fay will pick last, having contributed his White Elephant Gift the earliest (last summer at PLAAY-Dot-CON!).
