If you're ready for some classic hockey with an extra dollop of historical significance, here it is: the 1992-93 season for HOCKEY BLAST Pro Hockey Game!

The '92-93 season marked the 100th anniversary of professional hockey's Championship Cup, and proved to be the highest-scoring regular season in league history, averaging over seven goals per game. Only 68 shutouts were recorded during the regular season, and 21 players reached the 100-point plateau. Pittsburgh's "Super Mario" led the way with an astonishing 160 points, while Winnipeg’s hot-shooting rookie shattered the rookie scoring record by scoring 76 goals and 56 assists for 132 points this season. If you love high-scoring, hard-hitting hockey action--this set is for YOU!

This was the final season for the league to play under its unique history-based conference alignment. Both the conferences and the divisions would be renamed and re-aligned to reflect geographical rather than historical rivalries. Two new clubs joined the league in ‘92-93, Ottawa and Tampa Bay. For Ottawa, it was a long-awaited return of pro hockey while expansion to Tampa was intended to build fan support in the U.S. Sun Belt. This was also the final season of play in Minneapolis-St. Paul for the Minnesota franchise, which relocated to Dallas the following season.

Additionally, the '92-93 season came thiiiiis close to culminating in a classic All-Canadian Montreal-Toronto championship cup series. Montreal breezed past New York in five games, and the Leafs took L.A. to seven games before bowing out with a heart-breaking 5-4 loss. (Maybe things will turn out differently on YOUR tabletop!)

You'll get everything you need to re-ceate this historic pro hockey season. Along with over 600 individual player cards representing all 24 pro teams, we’ve included an “Instant Results” card with your set.
