HMB lets you create your own big league universe with the players you know and love! So you can expect pinstripes star Aaron Judge to be at the top of your tabletop's batting stats, in both power and average! Sluggers like Schwarber and Alonso will consistently be deep-ball threats as well (though it'll be tough to out-hit Judge!). Gurriel, Arraez and McNiel will be among the best at getting that much-needed base hit. Berti, Mateo and Mullins will have frequent highlights on the base paths. Top fielders like Betts, Arenado and Bogaerts will have the same big play ability on your game table that they show in real-life.
From the pitching rubber, Urias and Anderson on the LA staff will be a deadly one-two punch. Guys like Verlander, Alcantara, Cease and Manoa will impress with sparkling ERAS, just as they did during the real-life 2022 season. Clase and Jansen will time and again trot out of the bullpen to record saves. Then there's dual-threat all-star Ohtani, who wows the crowd as both a pitcher and batter!
Of course, it's woven into the game's "blue sky" DNA that a percentage of players will over-achieve or under-perform thanks to added boosts or "busts" generated by HMB's Game Day feature. A player could go on a hot batting streak, or a pitcher gets in a month-long "groove." Player injuries could knock a star performer out of action for an extended period, opening the door for a little-used reserve to suddenly shine. You never know how your baseball universe if going to play out, until you sit down and start knocking out games!
You get over 1000 cards in the set. Each player gets his own card, or multiple cards if he had significant action for multiple teams. There's a trade guide included that gives you instructions for tailoring your card set to opening-day or pennant-race rosters. You also get a set of 86 umpire cards, every ump who presided over 30 or more games in 2022, each card based on the ump's actual 2022 calls. We include a sample batting orders guide for each team and an "Instant Results" matrix that will allow you to determine winners of games with a single dice roll.
