Welcome to the third season of the Basketball League of America for Highlight Maker Pro Hoops Game! We’re excited to have you join us (or, continue your journey) with your own personal pro basketball league experience.
We’ve again created two versions of the card set. The standard black-and-white version identifies the teams numerically, the number is found in the lower left corner of each card. This is for gamers who want to create their own team identities and/or move players around to form their own unique lineups. The color version adopts the approach we've used in our fictional football, baseball and soccer universes, where BLAM is an alternate pro hoops league to the real-life NBA. Thus, we've placed our franchises in cities which currently host professional sports--but not pro basketball. In some cases, these cities hosted teams in past years, in which case the color schemes we chose may reflect that cities past pro heritage. Other cities are new hoops territory.
As usual, there’ve been some changes in team fortune heading into the new season--we’ll let you discover them on your own! Many of the mainstay players from last year’s debut season are back again for another round of pro hoops excitement. Solomon Threatt, Quadry Vaughns, Diego Dockery, Tichyque Wheeler, Keeyan Brockington, Xavier Etter are a few examples. There are some blips on the radar screen, too, journeymen players who are poised to have breakout seasons and known stars who might struggle this year. That's part of the fun of following a pro league (or, in this case, running one!).
The rookie class is another good one. Similar to last year's crop, you'll discover a healthy number of day one rookie starters, like Akiva Gordon, Gavin Hammer, Jamille Ward, Hutch Vendeweghe, Zaide Tomley, JaVaughn Doucet and others.
The BLAM coaching ranks have seen a few changes as well. Marv Blalock, Blake Birdsall, Rocco Wallis, Doug Whelan are out of the league (and Lon Hightower is on the hot seat!), replaced by four fresh faces: Bart Grabill and Luri Kogan come over from the college ranks, Jared Rittenberry and Dana Wetzler are former assistant coaches getting their first shot at being in charge.
You get twelve players for each of the twelve league teams, in your choice of specific team cities and colors or “build your own league” black and white, plus an additional twelve free-agent players that can be added to any team and a half-dozen blank cards for creating your OWN stars or scrubs. Plus eighteen coach cards and 32 referee cards.
