The 2024-25 NHL Season saw Florida clinch its second Cup championship in franchise history with a 4–2 Finals series win over Edmonton—a back-to-back finals rematch! The Florida tallied 94 playoff goals—ranking fourth all-time for goals by a team in one postseason. Winnipeg delivered an electrifying season: they came out of the gate with an historic start (14 wins in their first 15 games), claimed the divisional title, and honors for the league’s best overall record. It was the first time for both the franchise and a Canadian team since 2011–12. Winnipeg was led by goalie Connor Hellebuyck who had a phenomenal campaign that earned him both the MVP and best goalie trophies. He led the league with 47 wins, eight shutouts, and a stellar 2.00 goals-against average. Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov again did not disappoint as he led the league in total points with 121, topping Nathan MacKinnon (116) and Leon Draisaitl (106). Draisaitl was the league's top-scorer with 52 goals. Colorado’s Cale Makar reached an elite milestone by becoming just the ninth defenseman in league history (and just the second post-lockout) to notch 30 goals. He capped the season with 92 points, was named best defenseman for the fifth straight year, and won his second MVP trophy.

This set was once again a collaborative effort with PLAAY gamer Rob Gallamore, who is not only a passionate hockey and sports board game fan, but also a hockey scout and with many years of experience. We commissioned Rob to create the ratings for the set, and then produced the card set in team colors from Rob’s ratings. Each team is represented by its end-of-season “playoff-push” rosters, so you can re-play the critical late-season series, or dive right into the post-season action! Over 800 players individually rated based on their real-life 2024-25 performance, with all cards presented in team colors. Also included is an Instant Results grid and season summary (with team grades).
