2024 NASCAR WEB TEXT

Welcome to another season of tabletop racin’ with the 2024 Pro Season for RED WHITE & BUE RACIN’ Stock Car Action Game! As has been the case for the past several years, the drivers and track ratings were rated by Jerry Minks, Mountain City, TN. Jerry is extremely knowledgable about the current (and past!) pro racing scene and it's a privilege to have him apply his expertise to our card sets.

We won't go into an in-depth re-hash of the 2024 season, you can find that here. But a couple of things are worth noting…

In past seasons, we've issued "boutique" ratings for drivers who turned in exceptional, situational or unique performances. This would include "grayed out" qualities in effect only in certain situations, or ratings marked with a dagger symbol with explanatory text on the card. This year, we opted for a less complex approach, including a handful of "alternate" cards that can be used in specific situations.

• Playoff cards for Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney: Each of these drivers performed significantly better during the pro season playoffs, and these cards reflect those improvements. The playoff cards are marked as such, and each car icon includes a trophy symbol on the hood.

• Harrison Burton Daytona/Talladega card: Burton won the 400 race at Daytona in a huge surprise for the #21 Wood Brothers team, almost immediately after they'd announced they were releasing him after the season. Burton ran particularly effectively at tracks 2.5 miles or higher last year (The only other top 10 finish for the Wood Brothers was at Talladega). Thus we suggest using the alternate card ONLY at Daytona and Talladega.

Once again, there was a new venue on the pro racing schedule, with the Iowa track making its debut in 2024. The "street race" in Chicago, IL was shortened to 165 miles--you'll use the 100 Race rules (5 mile turns) for this race, there's a card included that spells out the rules for you. The dirt track set-up for Bristol was discontinued for 2024, so both races at Bristol will use the same card. Two track cards are included for the Charlotte track as it again offered standard and road course races.

You'll notice a slightly different "look" to the track cards, including a numerical value(s) in the bottom right corner of each card. These refer to the race number(s) for each venue, so that you can run the race schedule in order without having to look it up online.

A set of blank driver cards has been included in this set, in case you'd like to switch drivers to different teams, or create new drivers of your own choosing. Just pencil in the ratings, and you're ready to go!

We hope you have as much fun with this set as we did in putting it together!
