Re-live the exciting 2025-26 Pro Hockey Season with this colorful new card set for Hockey Blast! The big scorers, star defenders, acrobatic goalies and big-hitters will re-create their performances on YOUR tabletop!
The 2025–26 Pro Hockey season was a thrilling, high-stakes campaign highlighted by a memorable mid-season Olympic break in Italy, an unprecedented six-team playoff turnover, and a resilient Carolina squad surging past Las Vegas in six games to capture their first cup championship in twenty years. Individually, the campaign was anchored by spectacular performances from the league's elite tier. Edmonton captain Connor McDavid racked up a league-leading 138 points, while Colorado dynamo Nathan MacKinnon produced a blistering 53 goals. Despite their eye-opening offensive outputs, it was Tampa Bay wizard Nikita Kucherov who captured the ultimate individual prize, edging out McDavid in a razor-thin ballot to earn the league's MVP title after a phenomenal 130-point regular season. The year also offered a glimpse into the future as teenage defenseman Matthew Schaefer took the league by storm and was honored as rookie of the year.
The league's goaltending landscape was led by Andrei Vasilevskiy, who completed a masterful season in net for Tampa Bay. Vasilevskiy carried a massive workload, leading the league with 39 wins in 58 starts and anchoring his campaign with a legendary 18-game point streak (17-0-1) from December to February. Fellow goalies Shesterkin, Hellebuyck and Swayman (among others) put in memorable efforts as well.
This card set was once again a collaborative effort with PLAAY gamer Rob Gallamore, who is not only a passionate hockey and sports board game fan, but also a hockey scout and with many years of experience. We commissioned Rob to create the ratings for the set, and then produced the card set in team colors from Rob’s ratings. Teams are represented by their end-of-season “playoff-push” rosters, so you can re-play the critical late-season series, or dive right into the post-season action! Each team includes sufficient depth at forward for four starting lines (plus at least two reserves) and a minimum of seven defenders. Over 800 players individually rated based on their real-life 2025-26 performance, with all cards presented in team colors. Also included is an Instant Results grid and season summary (with team grades).
