Welcome to the 2024 season of SCRAM—Stock Car Racing America—RED WHITE & BLUE RACIN' Stock Car Action Game's fictional stock car racing organization!
The premise behind all our fictional card sets is that sometimes it's fun for sports board gamers to play out an open-ended scenario, where you're creating your OWN sports history, rather than re-creating it from what happened in real-life. With this set of SCRAM driver cards, you can watch your own personal stock car racing season unfold, with all the drama, excitement and unpredictability of REAL stock car racing!
This is the FOURTEENTH consecutive year for SCRAM, and many PLAAY Gamers have conducted full race schedules every year! Our hope for this update is that it will generate another season of memorable table-top "moments!" There's enough new and different stuff going on to keep things fresh and interesting, but plenty of continuity, too. It'll be, we think, a very comfortable and familiar progression for SCRAM fans moving from 2024 to 2025.
This year's SCRAM release again offers the entire SCRAM B-Series for your sports game table! You get 56 additional drivers, some of them familiar names from previous B-Series and SCRAM-ateur sets, rated for the 2025 B-Series season. Run the B-Series as the day-before "opening act" for all your SCRAM races and get double the racing fun for only a few dollars more! This year's B-Series will be more exciting than ever before, with a host of newcomers and MORE chances for them to qualify!
We've also subtly re-mastered the track cards--they're now presented in alphabetical order and numbered for each race with a numerical code. There's a new SCRAM venue, too: the brand-new state-of-the-art Appalachian Raceway takes its place on the big SCRAM stage
If you're new to SCRAM, we want you to know that it's loosely patterned after the current pro stock car scene, designed to generate a similar distribution of results. However, it's a totally distinct entity. These are unique racing personalities, and we feel strongly that after running a few races, you'll begin to develop a real affinity for them as "your guys." Don't be surprised if you find yourself talking to your race fan friends about Donna Tourville, Austin Bigler, Trevor Trostel and the Pettis brothers Jordy and Kevin as if they were real racing stars! To YOU, they WILL be!
With that in mind, here are some of the highlights of the brand-new 2024 SCRAM Season card set...
• Ray Bob Walker un-retires, at least for now, after an ugly fall-out with his hand-picked successor, Maddox Moreau, Jr. "This isn't over," Moreau landed at the 39 team and the sparks could fly during the racin' season! (We suggest you put them on the FUME list to start the new season!)
• It's looking like uncustomary off-years for superstars Jule Justus and Jordy Pettis. For Justus, it's just "one of those years." Pettis has had trouble shaking off a pre-season injury, and will only be able to race part-time in '25. Pettis Racing B-Series driver Holly Hoisington gets her shot behind the big time SCRAM wheel, and is looking to impress. Meanwhile, the "other" Pettis brother, Kevin, is poised to have a best-ever season after years of driving in Jordy's shadow.
• There will be some new faces in Victory Lane this year, count on it! Among the sudden-risers (aside from the afore-mentioned Holly Hoisington) is Purdy Martel, a middler B-Series rookie last year, but the top-level guys at the 2 team feel he’s got the stuff to be a star and have put him in behind the wheel. Also promoted from the B-Series are Darren Kromer and Bruce Baugh. In Kromer's case, his military background helped lure additional sponsor money that should help the 92 team recapture at least some of its former glory.
• Several name drivers have moved to new teams this year. Wolfman Warner escapes the money troubles at the 39 team, moves to the 63. And Geoff Daly, Jr. gets a fresh start with a brand new team, the 16.
These are just some of the story lines you'll watch unfold with the new 2025 SCRAM season set for RED WHITE & BLUE RACIN'! Of course, many of your favorite SCRAM stars are back for more, picking up where they left off in '24. Everyone from the SCRAM-tastic Walker family (up-and-comer Joe Bob Walker and his iconic driver dad, Ray Bob), the Pettis brothers Jordy and Kevin, and the "women of SCRAM," Julee Justus, Donna Tourville, Aimee Serra, Pam Graham, and more! It's your OWN personal stock car racing universe, and it's ready to roll for another year of "boogity-boogity!"
Once again, the SCRAM Season will begin with The Ice Brew 600 race at the Northern Lights MotorDome, we’ve put it on the schedule as a Thursday night race, coinciding with our own live stream of the race on Thursday night 02.13.25.
So—are you ready to drop the checkered flag on another season of SCRAM racing? You get cards for 57 drivers in vivid team/sponsor colors (and five "bonus" blank cards to create your OWN drivers if you like), 23 track cards, a driver detail summary with snapshot text for each driver, complete 34-event race schedule and an intro sheet for the whole shootin' match, all for just $24! Add the "B-Series" cards--56 additional drivers and TV cards--for just ten bucks more!
