Women’s pro hockey? Game ON! Here’s the 2026 Women’s Pro Hockey Season card set for HOCKEY BLAST Pro Hockey Game! This set was again created by our go-to hockey guy, Rob Gallamore, who has paid a lot of attention to this league since its inception in 2024.
The 2026 Pro Women’s Hockey season was marked by the addition of two west coast teams (Seattle and Vancouver) bringing the league’s franchise total to eight. The regular season featured unprecedented fan engagement, drawing more than a half-million fans across North America. The season also applied a month-long mid-season pause so the league’s global superstars could represent their home nations at the 2026 Winter Olympics. This added exposure helped fuel the league’s record-setting attendance and interest.
Boston dominated the individual regular-season honors. Netminder Aerin Frankel made history as the first goaltender to capture both the league’s MVP Award and Goaltender of the Year, sharing the league single-season record of 19 wins and posting an eyebrow-raising 8 shutouts. Teammate Megan Keller earned the league’s Top Defender award, tying the single-season defensive scoring record with 22 points, while Boston’s Haley Winn was named Rookie of the Year. Offensively, Minnesota’s Kelly Pannek spearheaded the league leaderboard, winning Forward of the Year after exploding for a single-season record 33 points and 16 goals.
The postseason built to a memorable crescendo in a dramatic semifinal series, with Montréal de-throning Minnesota’s two-time reigning champions in five games. That series featured the league’s first-ever playoff hat trick, by Montréal’s Laura Stacey. The Finals were an all-Canadian affair, Montreal and Ottawa. Powered by captain Marie-Philip Poulin, Montréal won the title in four games to bring the league championship north of the border for the very first time.
