In the spirit of our All-Time Franchise Great Teams sets for our football, baseball and hockey games, it's only logical that we'd create one for basketball! Thanks to the hard work of PLAAY Gamer (and basketball super-fan!) Jule Sigall, here it is!
The cards for this set are based on overall career performance, not a specific season. Thus, these teams will play best against each other (vs. playing them against teams from regular season card sets). The players are rated consistent with the "75 All-Time Greats" cards we created for the hoops game a couple years ago. Same as the ATG 75 set, we've not included any usage or experience ratings for these players since they are virtually all starters and ICONs.
There are no duplicate player cards in this collection--each all-time great is represented on one team only. As you can imagine, there was some thought required in some of the team assignments: Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Moses Malone, Wilt Chamberlain and others. Our rationale is explained in the liner notes--but, it's YOUR set so, of course, you have our permission to re-arrange these players however you like!
Each of the 30 current pro franchises is represented by a dozen of its best-known, most beloved players. Hold your own all-time tournament to see which franchise gets the bragging rights! You can even conduct extended "full season" projects, moving between "Prime Time" full-play and Highlight Maker "express" play--these cards work with both versions of the game!
