This amazing new card set was created by soccer aficionado and historian Bill Hild. In the spring of 2015, Bill approached us with the of an “all-time great” soccer card set, similar to the ATFG cards sets for the baseball and hockey games. We helped him set up the parameters for the card set, gave advice along the way, and formatted the cards for tabletop use. But it’s Bill’s expertise, knowledge and passion for international soccer that is at the heart of this incredible card set.

Since completion of the set, Bill has played nearly 100 matches, with fantastic results. One of the innovations Bill came up with is doubled qualities for a few super-star players—which brings added depth and realism to these cards and elevates the performances of the greatest-of-the-great. There are 22 teams, each with 20 players and three goal keepers. A few of the world’s dominant soccer nations—Argentina, Brazil, England, for example—have had so many great players over so many years, they were allotted two teams in this set. (Rosters for each team are shown below.)
