If you’ve watched the movie “Dodgeball,” you’ve heard of ESPN8 “The Ocho.” In the movie, it’s where ESPN showcases events that are “almost sports.” In 2016, the real-life ESPN ran a day of “Ocho” programming on its ESPN College channel (in August, when college sports are not plentiful), and it drew strong ratings. Each year since then, they’ve reprised “The Ocho,” and last year it was extended to four days of programming. There does seem to be an appetite for this! So--kind of on a whim--we decided to (ahem) “take the ball and run with it!” Presenting, The PSPN8 “Ocho Games” Alt-Sport Festival, “almost” sports for your game table!
