• Technically, Lake Pontchartrain is an estuary not an actual lake. The water is a varying mix of fresh and saltwater. The eastern areas are mainly fresh water, the western areas are mainly salt water. There's a very large central area of "brackish" water (a mix of salt and fresh). Most fish have adapted to these conditions and can be found anywhere. However, some freshwater species can ONLY be found in fresh water. The game board reflects these characteristics.

• There's a wide variety of different fish here. Depending on where you cast, you'll be reeling in perch, croaker, trout, bass, black drum, sheepshead and of course, redfish.

• Because fishing conditions at Lake Pontchartrain can change dramatically based on season, fishing location, time of day, and weather, we've necessarily narrowed the scope of your fishing adventure: you'll be fishing from beneath the bridge on an early autumn late afternoon. The wind conditions will vary, and can impact your experience.

• Some cards reflect "schools" of fish. At Lake Pontchartrain, you can catch nothing for an hour, find a school of redfish and suddenly you've caught four or five fish in 20 minutes! These cards reflect that phenomenon.

• The Bull Shark: Both a bane and a bonanza. The idea is that the bull shark is not attracted by the bait but rather by the fish that TOOK the bait! It will be difficult to land, but if you do it will be memorable!
